Fortum has invested for several years in both research and production of solar power. We have currently two solar power parks in India. 10 MW solar power plant in Madhya Pradesh spreads over about 70 acres and it is the first project to be commissioned under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) Phase II Batch I. Fortum also owns a 5 MW solar power plant in the state of Rajasthan. India provides us a unique opportunity to learn more about different solar cell technologies.
We are also the leading partner in the Glava Energy Centre – the biggest land-based solar park in the Nordic countries, located outside Arvika in Sweden. The park is also a test lab for innovative solutions within smart grids.
